This weekend the boys and I have had the pleasure of spending time with mom and Larry. Today, we went to visit Grandpa Grant and Georgie and then I drove mom out to see our new house! Keegan was thrilled to run around and check out his new room, he even started telling me where he wanted everything. It was very exciting to see all of the progress that has been done on the house in the past week. All the flooring except the carpet is in, the fireplace tile has been set and is just waiting for grout, the remaining light fixtures have been installed and the shelving in the closets is in. So all that is left is the carpet, bathroom sinks, toilets, kitchen counter top and the appliances installed. It may sound like a lot but it is amazing what can be done in just a few days. In fact, we are now hoping for a May 15th closing date instead of May 28th. Lets keep our fingers crossed!

May 28th!

Our offer was accepted!

The house is not fully finished so we get to pick out some of the final touches and really make it exactly what we want. It is located in Westpark, (where our old house is), right on the corner when you turn on Big Bend Loop. The lot a little over 10,000 sq ft so there will be lots of yard for the kids to play in. Keegan is very excited about having his room full of all his things again. And I think dad and Leslie are especially happy at the thought of having their house back to normal again, although I think dad may tear up a little. As of right now our closing date is May 28th, giving us a month between when our Illinois house closes and when our new Alaska house closes.

We are so happy that things are finally coming together and hope to have all of our family and friends over to our new home soon.

Love you all!

Home (almost) sweet home

Josh and I are VERY happy that the sale of our house is starting to come to an end. Josh is currently driving from the Indianapolis airport to Effingham Illinois in order to empty out our house, do a few repairs and say goodbye to his friends and family. We'll be back to visit someday but not for a while.

Last Saturday Josh and I met with our realtor here in Alaska and went to look at some houses. After viewing just three houses we found one that we love. And today I put an offer in on it. I hope to hear back sometime early tomorrow. Lets keep our fingers crossed that it goes well.

Love you all!

Spring

It has been a challenging adjustment being a mother of two, but not because of Connor, it's Keegan! he has been misbehaving and throwing fits every chance that he can. And here I was thinking that the newborn would be more work than the two year old, boy was I wrong. Soon I won't be able to blame it on the terrible twos, my baby boy is about to celebrate his third birthday!

We have been enjoying Alaska's sunny, warm weather and went to the zoo this week. Keegan had lots of fun running around with Patrick, Cassy and Carson and looking at all the animals. The brown bears were even out enjoying the spring time sun. I am so excited for warmer weather. I can't wait to start taking long walks with the kids again, especially with our new double jogger.

Love you all!

Family

Only 15 days until my due date! I am definitely having more trouble with moving around and finding clothes that I fit into. I am so excited/anxious for this little boy to arrive, i wish the day would come already. But until that day comes I am enjoying the time being a family of three.

I feel so lucky to such great family members around me. Dad and Leslie are an endless supply of support. whether it's letting us stay in their home, watching Keegan or simply making dinner they are always helping out in some way. What has become a weekly ritual for Keegan and I is every Saturday or Sunday we go over to Mom and Larry's house and hang out for the entire day. Now to some people this may sound a little dull but it is anything but that. There is always some kind of sport being played (which means there is always betting), and of course all kinds of food. There is never a shortage of feeling loved and taken care of when I'm with my mom.

I hope the next time I write will be to say the baby has arrived, but I think that's just wishful thinking.

Love you all!

Kitchen

The deconstruction of the kitchen is complete and is now being built back up. My dad and step mom have wanted a new kitchen in this house since they moved in seven years ago and finally that dream is coming true. Josh and my dad took out the cabinets last week, the electrical work has been done, and now the drywall guy will be finishing this weekend. The goal is to have the new cabinets go in early next week! Keegan has been enjoying being the little helper. Whether it be climbing up and down the ladder, getting tools out or simply watching the action, he loves being involved.
